Abstract
A 16 year old school boy was beaten on the head by the colleagues and fell on the ground developing tonic clonic seizures. Following this episode, he had been remained unconcious for few days with suspicion of lesion or damage to the mid-train.
With conservative treatment, the patient¡¤s condition had improved by 2 weeks and was ambulatory.
However a few days later the patient suddenly complained of headache, vomiting and showed marked trunk ataxia on walking.
He has become unconscious again with symptoms of acute increased intiacranial pressure and early papilledema ovor a period of 4 days.
A possible diagnosis of posterior fassa hematomadue to the previous head injury was made. and suboccipital craniectomy revealed a white cyst, a chestnut in size, filng up the 4th ventricle.
The cyst was successfully removed and the histopatholoigical section showed Cysticercus cellulosae.
